How to use it

Step-by-step timeline

  1. Open the new account and set up online banking, the debit card and alerts.
  2. Move a starting balance so early payments clear.
  3. Switch deposits first: payroll, benefits and gig payouts. Your employer may need a form and one or two pay cycles.
  4. Switch payments: bills, autopays, subscriptions and saved cards. Use 2 to 3 months of statements (12 if you can) to find them all.
  5. Overlap 1 to 2 billing cycles. Watch both accounts and mark items Verified once a payment or deposit actually clears in the new account.
  6. Keep a buffer in the old account during the overlap so a missed autopay does not bounce or trigger fees.
  7. Close the old account only when everything is Verified and nothing is pending. Download old statements first and ask for written confirmation.

Your ticks and items are stored in your browser's local storage on this device only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Clearing browser data erases them, so print a copy if you want a backup. Read the full guide: how to switch banks without missing a payment.

Questions

How long does it take to switch banks?

Plan on about 1 to 2 months. Direct deposit changes can take one or two pay cycles, and you should overlap both accounts for 1 to 2 billing cycles before closing.

Should I close my old bank account right away?

No. Keep it open with a small buffer until every payment and deposit has cleared in the new account, so nothing bounces.

Where is my checklist saved?

Only in this browser on this device, using local storage. Nothing is uploaded or shared.

Does this connect to my bank?

No. You type and tick everything yourself. It is an organizer, not financial advice.
