How to use it

  1. Enter your card fees. Use your own processor's rate, for example 2.6% plus 15 cents per tap, and roughly what share of buyers pay by card.
  2. Set a target margin. This is the share of the bundle price you want to keep after the cost to make and card fees. 50-70% is common for prints and stickers, but use what works for you.
  3. Add each deal. Enter how many items are in it, your regular single price, what one item costs to make and the bundle price on your sign.
  4. Read the row. "Buyer saves" shows the deal's discount. "Lowest price at target margin" is the floor for that bundle. "Profit vs singles" compares one bundle with selling the same items as separate single sales, each with its own card fee, and says how many extra items the deal needs to bring in to come out ahead.
  5. Try the suggester to turn a discount into a round, easy-change price. Your deals save in this browser only.

Honest note: these are estimates. A bundle only pays off if it gets people to buy more than they would have; watch your real sales to see if it does.

FAQ

How do I price a 3 for $10 sticker deal?

Start with your regular single price and what each sticker costs you to make. A good bundle usually saves the buyer a clear amount (often 10-25% off buying singles) while still leaving a healthy margin after card fees. Enter the deal here and check the margin and the 'lowest price at target margin' column before you print the sign.

Do bundles make more money than singles?

Often yes, because one card transaction covers several items, so the per-sale card fee is spread out, and buyers who came for one item take home two or three. But each item earns less. The calculator shows how many extra items a bundle must sell to beat the profit of single sales, so you can judge if the deal is worth it.

What if the bundle mixes different items?

Use the average regular price and average cost to make across the items buyers usually pick. If one item costs much more to make, enter that cost to see the worst case.

Should bundle prices be whole dollars?

Whole-dollar prices like $10 or $20 make cash change much easier at a busy table. The calculator flags bundle prices with cents so you can round.

Does this include sales tax?

No. Enter prices before tax. If your sign prices include tax, the tax part is not your money; use the break-even calculator's tax option or your own state's rules. This is not tax advice.
